Exercise Ball Chair

Any advice on my exercise program?
I’m coming off a lazy period of about 8months. My goal is to loose some of the excess fat and get stronger both in muscles and cardio. I’ve always used bodyweight calisthenics before, but want to get into weights. I plan to do the following:
Cardio 3-4 times / week.
Surya Namaskar and other stretching.
Lower Body –
Deadlift
Squat
Hamstring Curl
Dumbell lunge
Toe Raise
Upper Body –
Bench Press
Incline Press
Pull Up / Chin Up
Weighted Dips
Military Press
Standing raising bar to sternum (don’t know the name)
Core –
Swiss Ball Crunch
Captain Chair
Reverse Crunch
Twists
Supine Bicycle
Questions:
Is there any advantage to using a barbell versus dumbells?
Any advice on how to organize a program / schedule of the above exercises? (How would you do it?)
Anything else?
Your lower body workout is looks good. With the upper body workout, you might want to add some dumbbell or easy bar curls for your biceps. You should do a little more for your triceps like push downs or close grip bench press. Also, I would add another back exercise, do some seated rows.
There is no advantage of using a barbell vs a dumbbell. They are interchangeable, my advice to you is to switch it up every 2 weeks or so.
As far as a schedule goes, I do shoulders and back one day, biceps and triceps another, chest another, and I do cardio and some kind of core/ab workout everyday (weekday).
Don’t get discouraged if you dont see much progress right away, it takes time.
